Jewellery Design Lead

Team: Jewellery Design

Reports to: Head of Jewellery Design

Manages: A small team of jewellery designers (player-coach — hands-on + leadership)

Location: Bengaluru · On-site

Type: Full-time

Experience: 8–12 years in fine / demi-fine / fashion jewellery design

About GIVA

GIVA is one of India's fastest-growing demi-fine jewellery brands, built on authentic 925 sterling silver and designed for everyday self-expression and gifting. With a strong D2C presence and 300+ stores, GIVA is building a distinctive jewellery design language across collections, categories, and price points.

About the Role

We are looking for a Jewellery Design Lead who can own collections end-to-end — from trend and concept to production-ready design — while building and mentoring a small team of designers.

This is a player-coach role: you will remain hands-on with design while also providing creative direction, feedback, and leadership to the team.

Key Responsibilities

- Own jewellery collections end-to-end, from trend research, inspiration, and concept development to production-ready designs.
- Translate consumer insights, market trends, brand direction, and commercial objectives into compelling jewellery collections.
- Develop designs across fine, demi-fine, and fashion jewellery categories while maintaining a strong and consistent design language.
- Create and review design concepts, ensuring strong aesthetics, wearability, functionality, manufacturability, and commercial viability.
- Work closely with merchandising, product development, sourcing, manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to take designs from concept to production.
- Ensure designs are aligned with target price points, cost considerations, quality standards, and expected sell-through.

- Guide the team on design development, provide regular feedback, and maintain high creative standards.
- Mentor and develop junior designers while managing timelines and design priorities.
- Review CADs, technical details, samples, and production outputs to ensure design intent is maintained.
- Track emerging jewellery, fashion, cultural, and consumer trends to identify new design opportunities.
- Build strong design processes and improve the speed, quality, and consistency of collection development.
- Contribute to seasonal and strategic collection planning based on business and consumer needs.

What We’re Looking For

- 8–12 years of experience in fine, demi-fine, or fashion jewellery design.
- Strong understanding of jewellery design, materials, construction, proportions, and manufacturing processes.
- Proven experience in developing jewellery collections from concept to production.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating original design thinking and commercial jewellery collections.
- Experience working with CAD and jewellery design technology.
- Strong understanding of tech packs, specifications, costing, and production requirements.
- Ability to balance creativity with commercial and operational considerations.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience mentoring or managing a small team of designers.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple collections and timelines.

Why Join GIVA?

- Work with one of India's fastest-growing demi-fine jewellery brands.
- Own the design direction of high-visibility jewellery collections.
- Opportunity to build and mentor a growing design team.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams across design, product, merchandising, and manufacturing.
- Be part of a quick-paced, design-led consumer brand.
