About MidhillsMidhills has been turning Himalayan pine resin into chemicals the world relies on since 1985. From our plant in Solan we tap, distil and refine resin into gum rosin, ester gum, pine oil, terpineol, alpha pinene and more. These ingredients end up in paints, adhesives, inks, fragrances, food, pharma and cosmetics for customers in 30+ countries, including Asian Paints, Pidilite, Mars and IFF.

We are a family-led house, not a trader: we control sourcing, distillation and derivatisation ourselves, and we take our responsibility to the tappers in the foothills seriously.

We are hiring our first dedicated HR Manager to build the people function that a 40-year-old company growing into its next decade needs.

CTC: 35000/-

Responsibilities

- Hiring: run end-to-end recruitment for plant operators, chemists, lab staff, supervisors and office roles. Build a pipeline with local ITIs, polytechnics and chemistry colleges.
- Statutory compliance: keep us fully compliant with the Factories Act, PF, ESI, gratuity, bonus, minimum wages, contract labour (CLRA) and Himachal Pradesh labour rules. Own inspections, returns and registers.




- Payroll and HRIS: run monthly payroll inputs, attendance, leave and overtime; move us from spreadsheets to a simple HR system.
- Contract workforce: manage contractor relationships and ensure contract and seasonal workers are paid correctly, on time and safely.
- Policies and handbook: write the leave, conduct, POSH, grievance and shift policies we do not yet have, and make sure people actually know them.
- Safety and welfare: partner with the plant head on safety training, PPE discipline, canteen, first-aid and the welfare measures a chemical plant requires.
- Performance and retention: set up annual appraisals, skill matrices for operators, and simple career paths so good people stay.
- Employee relations: be the person workers and supervisors trust to raise issues early and resolve them fairly.

What we need from youMust have

- 3+ years in HR, with hands-on plant HR in manufacturing, chemicals, pharma or a similar process industry
- Working knowledge of Indian labour law and factory compliance; you have handled a labour inspector visit
- Experience running payroll inputs and managing contract labour
- Fluent in Hindi and English; comfortable on the shop floor as much as in the office
- Based in or willing to relocate to Solan
