The Role

We’re looking for a hands-on HR Manager to own people operations at our Kancheepuram factory. You’ll be the go-to person for our shop-floor team, from hiring through engagement and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

- Workforce management: Hire, onboard and retain blue-collar and contract workers. Plan manpower for shifts and for the summer peak season.
- Employee relations: Act as the first point of contact for workers. Handle grievances, discipline and conflict resolution on the floor.
- Statutory compliance: Ensure compliance with the Factories Act, the Contract Labour Act, PF, ESI, gratuity, minimum wages and Tamil Nadu labour laws. Maintain all registers and handle inspections.
- Payroll and attendance: Manage attendance systems, overtime and leave, and coordinate payroll with the finance team.




- Contractor management: Manage manpower agencies and audit their compliance.
- Engagement and team building: Run team-building activities, festival celebrations and recognition programs that build a positive shop-floor culture.
- Training: Coordinate training on safety, hygiene and food-safety (GMP/FSSAI) practices together with the quality team.
- Health and safety: Support workplace safety, welfare facilities, canteen and transport.
- HR administration: Maintain employee records, run appraisals and support HR policy rollout.

What We’re Looking For

- 5–8 years of HR experience, preferably in FMCG, food, dairy or manufacturing
- Proven experience managing blue-collar and contract workforces
- Strong working knowledge of Indian and Tamil Nadu labour laws
- Fluent in Tamil and English; Hindi is a plus
- A people person who is approachable, firm and calm under pressure
- Willing to travel regularly between Chennai and Kancheepuram
- MBA/PGDM in HR, MSW or equivalent
