About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and technically accomplished NPD Head – Defence & Aerospace to lead end-to-end product development, from technical feasibility and prototyping to qualification and serial production.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in precision engineering, complex machining, material selection, special processes and customer-driven development programmes within the Defence and Aerospace sectors.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead complete NPD lifecycle: RFQ technical evaluation, feasibility, DFM, process planning, prototyping, validation and production handover.
- Drive development of complex, high-precision and safety-critical components for Defence and Aerospace OEMs.
- Establish manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, inspection methods and process capability requirements.
- Lead APQP, PPAP, FAI, PFMEA, control plans and customer-specific qualification documentation.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across Engineering, Production, Quality, Procurement and Supply Chain.
- Manage technical communication, design reviews,



engineering changes and development approvals with domestic and international OEMs.
- Ensure development milestones, cost targets, quality objectives and customer commitments are consistently achieved.

Candidate Requirements
- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production or Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience: 12–18 years in precision manufacturing and NPD, with substantial exposure to Defence and/or Aerospace programmes.
- Robust command of engineering drawings, GD&T;, CAD/CAM, CNC machining, material science, heat treatment and surface finishing.
- Working knowledge of AS9100D, AS9102, ISO 9001 and applicable Defence/Aerospace quality requirements.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and transitioning complex components from prototype to serial production.
- Prior experience with Defence/Aerospace OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers or regulated precision-engineering programmes will be strongly preferred.
