Role Description This is a full-time, in office Fabric Technologist role based in Gurgaon.

The Fabric

Technologist will evaluate and develop fabrics for Blackberrys menswear collections, ensuring that materials meet performance, quality, and aesthetic standards. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with design, merchandising, and sourcing teams to select suitable fabrics, conducting lab tests for shrinkage, colorfastness, and durability, and maintaining fabric technical data and specifications.



The role also involves working closely with mills and suppliers on fabric development, monitoring production for consistency, resolving fabric-related issues, and supporting continuous improvement in fabric performance and sustainability.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of textile science, fabric construction, fiber properties, and garment performance requirements.
- Experience with fabric testing methods, quality control procedures, and relevant industry standards.
- Ability to collaborate with design, merchandising, sourcing, and production teams to align fabric choices with product and brand objectives.
- Competence in documenting technical specifications, maintaining fabric libraries, and using basic MS Office or PLM tools.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and capability to analyze test results and resolve fabric-related issues.
- Understanding of menswear categories (formal, casual, and occasion wear) and current market trends is an advantage.
- Prior experience in apparel or textile manufacturing, preferably in menswear or fashion retail, is beneficial.
- Degree in Textile Technology, Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology, or a related field.
