About the role

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a high-performing squad of engineers to design and deliver robust features across our product suite. You will balance technical leadership with people management, ensuring the growth of your team members while maintaining a high bar for code quality and architectural integrity. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the engineering roadmap and fostering an environment where every contributor can thrive.

What you'll do

- Manage a team of full-stack engineers focused on Growth at Chargebee by balancing technical guidance with consistent mentorship and professional development support.
- Oversee the architecture, design, and deployment of scalable applications while ensuring long-term system stability and performance.




- Maintain technical excellence through thorough code reviews, automated testing, and the implementation of robust monitoring metrics.
- Integrate AI-assisted tools into the development lifecycle to enhance team productivity and support data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and sustainable execution plans.
- Manage team performance by providing structured feedback, addressing performance gaps, and supporting individual career progression.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for technical evolution and architectural improvement.

What you'll bring

- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on building complex, scalable web applications.
- 2+ years of experience in a formal people management or technical leadership role within a high-growth environment.
- Strong foundation in Computer Science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems design.
- Proficiency in modern full-stack technologies, specifically React or TypeScript alongside Node.js or Java/Spring Boot.
- Demonstrated product and UX sense with a focus on translating user needs into intuitive and efficient technical solutions.
- Proven ability to mentor engineers, facilitate performance reviews,



and support the professional growth of team members.
- Experience integrating AI-assisted coding tools or AI-based productivity workflows into the software development lifecycle.
- Experience in agile methodologies and managing cross-functional stakeholder expectations to deliver technical roadmaps.

Nice to have

- Experience with cloud infrastructure, containerization, and distributed data processing technologies.
- Familiarity with building or fine-tuning AI-driven features within a B2B SaaS product context.
- Previous experience working on fintech or subscription billing platforms.
- Knowledge of prompt engineering for automating internal engineering workflows in a cost-efficient way.
- Active participation in open-source communities or technical leadership forums.
