Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Design Engineer with 2–3 years of experience in the transformer manufacturing industry. The candidate will be responsible for transformer design, engineering calculations, preparation of technical drawings, material specifications, and coordination with production and quality departments to ensure efficient and cost-effective transformer manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare transformer design calculations and technical specifications.
- Work on electrical and mechanical design of power and distribution transformers.
- Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings, and detailed engineering drawings.
- Perform transformer design calculations related to:
- Core and winding design
- Copper and aluminium conductor selection
- Insulation design
- Losses and impedance calculations
- Temperature rise and cooling requirements
- Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials)
and material specifications.
- Coordinate with production, purchase, and quality departments.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable IS / IEC standards.
- Review customer specifications and prepare technical documentation.
- Support production during manufacturing and resolve design-related issues.
- Work on design optimization to reduce manufacturing costs and improve product performance.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of transformer design and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Excel.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.
- Understanding of transformer components and materials.
- Knowledge of IS / IEC standards.
- Positive analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
Educational Qualification
- BE / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
- BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in transformer manufacturing.
