Consultant / Assistant Manager Internal Audit

Location: Hyderabad, Chennai & Bangalore

Function: Governance, Risk and Compliance Services (GRCS) Department: Risk Consulting

Role Overview

Consultant / Assistant Manager Internal Audit will be responsible for managing and executing internal audit, risk consulting and process improvement engagements across multiple industries. The role involves leading project teams, managing client relationships, ensuring quality deliverables, supporting business development activities and contributing to the growth of the GRCS practice

Key Responsibilities

A. Internal Audit & Risk Advisory

- Lead risk-based internal audits, process audits and risk consulting engagements.
- Conduct Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and risk assessments.
- Evaluate business processes, identify operational risks and assess internal controls.
- Perform SOX 404, Internal Financial Controls (IFC) and regulatory compliance reviews.
- Identify control gaps and recommend process improvements and risk mitigation measures.
- Execute control self-assessments, revenue assurance and continuous monitoring activities.

B. Project Management & Execution

- Manage multiple internal audit and risk consulting projects simultaneously.
- Lead project teams and oversee project planning, execution and delivery.
- Ensure project quality, profitability and adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Report project progress and key risks to the Director / Partner.
- Act as the primary client contact throughout project execution.

C. Client & Stakeholder Management

- Manage client relationships and understand business requirements.
- Conduct stakeholder discussions and management presentations.
- Communicate audit findings, control gaps and recommendations.
- Support clients in implementing corrective actions and process improvements.

D. Team Management & Leadership

- Supervise,



coach and mentor junior team members.
- Review team deliverables and ensure quality standards.
- Conduct training and support team capability development.
- Manage team performance and promote effective collaboration.

E. Business Development & Practice Growth

- Identify business opportunities and contribute to lead generation and deal closure.
- Support proposals, pre-sales activities and RFP responses.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities across KPMG service lines.
- Contribute to revenue growth and client relationship development.

F. Thought Leadership

- Contribute to developing recent solutions and service offerings.
- Participate in knowledge management and practice development initiatives.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory developments and emerging risks.

4. Educational Qualifications

- MBA / Chartered Accountant (CA)

- CIA Certified Internal Auditor
- CISA Certified Information Systems Auditor
- CPA Certified Public Accountant
- CMA Certified Management Accountant
- ACCA Association of Chartered Certified Accountants
