Role Description The Blast Furnace Fitter role at TopFront is a full time, on-site position based in Bhubaneswar. The role involves installing, assembling, and maintaining blast furnace components, including pipelines, valves, structural fittings, refractories, and associated mechanical parts.

The Blast Furnace

Fitter will inspect equipment, diagnose mechanical issues, perform repairs, and ensure all work meets safety, quality, and operational standards. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings, coordinating with maintenance and operations teams, and documenting completed work and inspections. The role also requires strict adherence to plant safety procedures,



participation in shutdowns and preventive maintenance, and support for continuous improvement in furnace reliability and performance.

Qualifications

- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals related to blast furnace equipment.
- Hands-on experience in fitting, assembly, and maintenance of heavy industrial or steel plant equipment, preferably blast furnaces.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical tools, measuring instruments, alignment techniques, and safe handling of materials.
- Understanding of industrial safety standards, PPE usage, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe work practices in high-temperature environments.
- Basic familiarity with welding, cutting, rigging, and handling of refractories or structural steel is an advantage.
- Relevant technical qualification such as ITI, Diploma, or vocational training in Fitter, Mechanical, or related trades.
- Ability to work in shifts, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks in an industrial setting.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on reliability and attention to detail.
- Prior experience in a steel plant or heavy manufacturing environment is preferred but not mandatory.
