Role Description The Medical Coder at Finnastra Inc. is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. This role is responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and assigning accurate diagnosis, procedure, and modifier codes in accordance with industry standards and payer-specific guidelines. The Medical Coder will validate charge capture, support coding review processes, and help ensure clean claim submission to minimize denials and underpayments. Day-to-day tasks include auditing charts for coding accuracy,



collaborating with billing and AR teams to resolve coding-related issues, and staying current with regulatory and payer updates affecting reimbursement. The Medical Coder will also contribute to workflow optimization and documentation improvement to support a reliable, scalable revenue cycle. Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of medical coding systems (e.g., ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) and payer-specific rules, with experience in specialty or high-complexity reimbursement models preferred.
• Proficiency in reviewing clinical documentation, performing coding audits, and ensuring accurate charge capture and claim submission.
• Familiarity with medical billing and revenue cycle processes, including denials management, AR recovery, and payment reconciliation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with billing, credentialing, and operations teams to resolve coding issues and improve workflows.
• Attention to detail, analytical skills, and solid organizational capabilities to manage multiple cases and meet turnaround timelines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English for interacting with internal teams and, when needed, external stakeholders.
• Relevant certification such as CPC, CCS, or equivalent, and prior experience as a medical coder in a healthcare or RCM environment.
• Comfort with using practice management, EHR, and billing software; openness to learning new systems and technologies.
