Experience:
3–6 years Industry: Paperboard Packaging Manufacturing Preferred Background: Folding cartons, mono cartons, printed paperboard packaging, and retail packaging. Role Overview We are looking for a Packaging Development Executive with hands-on experience in paperboard packaging manufacturing. The candidate should have solid technical knowledge of paperboard materials, packaging structures, KLD/dielines, BOM preparation, material selection, colour matching, and packaging specifications. The role involves developing innovative packaging styles, coordinating with packaging manufacturers, and managing the complete packaging development process from concept to final approval.

Key Responsibilities
1. Packaging Development & New Styles
- Develop new paperboard packaging styles, structures, and formats.
- Suggest innovative packaging concepts, box styles, inserts, and display packaging solutions.
- Evaluate structural feasibility, product fit, protection, aesthetics, and manufacturing requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors for prototypes, samples, and packaging trials. 2. KLD, BOM & Technical Specifications
- Prepare and review KLDs (Key Line Drawings), dielines, and structural layouts.
- Prepare packaging BOMs, including paperboard grade, GSM, dimensions, printing, coatings, and finishing details.
- Develop and maintain technical specifications for approved packaging.
- Ensure packaging drawings and specifications are finalized before mass production. 3. Paperboard Material Selection & Costing
- Knowledge of paperboard grades, GSM, thickness, and material properties.
- Experience with duplex board, FBB (Folding Box Board), SBS (Solid Bleached Sulfate), and other relevant paperboard grades.




- Recommend suitable materials based on strength, printability, finish, appearance, and cost.
- Understand die-cutting, creasing, folding, gluing, lamination, UV coating, embossing, and other finishing processes.
- Identify material alternatives and optimize packaging costs. 4. Colour & Artwork Approvals
- Coordinate artwork layouts and print-ready files with design teams and vendors.
- Manage colour approvals, Pantone references, shade cards, printing proofs, and physical colour samples.
- Ensure consistency between approved samples and bulk production.
- Coordinate approvals for printing quality, surface finishes, and packaging appearance. 5. Vendor & Production Coordination
- Work closely with paperboard packaging manufacturers for quotations, sampling, development, and production timelines.
- Follow up on samples, corrections, approvals, and production readiness.
- Maintain approved KLDs, BOMs, specifications, shade cards, and reference samples.
- Coordinate with sourcing, product development, quality, and manufacturing teams. Candidate Requirements
* Graduate or Diploma in Packaging Technology, Printing Technology, Graphic Arts, or a related discipline.
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in a paperboard packaging manufacturing company.
- Hands-on knowledge of structural packaging development, KLDs, BOMs, material selection, and technical specifications.
- Practical experience with printing processes, colour matching, shade cards, and print approvals.
- Knowledge of CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, ArtiosCAD, or similar design tools is preferred.
- Strong vendor coordination, costing, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Worked for FMCG/TOYS customers
