Role Description The Paravet role at VetXplore Growth Solutions is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. The Paravet will assist veterinarians in providing high-quality clinical care for companion animals, including supporting examinations, administering prescribed treatments, and monitoring patient recovery.

Day-to-day responsibilities include handling and restraining animals safely, preparing consultation and treatment areas, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring a clean and hygienic environment. The role also involves communicating clearly with pet caregivers, explaining basic care instructions, helping with follow-up appointments, and coordinating with the wider veterinary team and partner clinics.



The Paravet is expected to follow all clinical protocols, adhere to ethical and welfare standards, and contribute to a positive, qualified experience for both animal patients and caregivers.

Qualifications

- Clinical veterinary support skills, including basic animal examination assistance, administering medications under supervision, wound care support, and post-treatment monitoring.
- Animal handling and welfare skills, including safe restraint techniques, stress management in animals, and adherence to humane care and biosecurity practices.
- Record-keeping and operational skills, such as maintaining accurate patient records, supporting inventory management of medical supplies, and following standard operating procedures.
- Communication and client service skills, including clear explanation of basic home care instructions, empathetic interaction with pet caregivers, and collaboration with veterinarians and clinic staff.
- Relevant education such as a Paravet or Veterinary Assistant certification, diploma in animal health or veterinary science, or equivalent practical training.
- Ability to work on-site in Mumbai, with flexibility to support clinic schedules, including weekends or extended hours when required.
- Basic knowledge of common companion animal diseases, vaccination protocols, preventive care, and awareness of current animal welfare guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to learn and adapt to evolving clinical practices and organizational needs.
