Job Summary

Walgreens is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to provide advanced expertise and individual-contributor leadership across solutions architecture. This role will lead complex work, shape solution direction, mentor others through influence, and partner across teams to deliver reliable, scalable, secure, and measurable outcomes. Proven functional/technical experience in Workforce management tools such UKG Workforce Pro.

Experience with other HR systems is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the end-to-end solution architecture, design, and delivery of UKG Workforce Management (WFM) solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives, enterprise standards, and technology roadmaps.

- Act as the primary subject matter expert for Workforce Management, Time & Attendance, Scheduling, HR, and Payroll processes, providing technical and functional guidance to stakeholders and project teams.

- Partner with business leaders, HR teams, payroll teams, product owners, and technical stakeholders to gather requirements, define solution strategies, and translate complex business needs into scalable technical solutions.

- Design and govern enterprise integration solutions using Dell BOOMI, APIs, middleware technologies, and cloud-based architectures to support seamless data exchange across HR and business applications.

- Define architecture standards, integration frameworks, reusable components, best practices, and governance models to improve solution consistency, scalability, and long-term maintainability.

- Lead architecture reviews, solution assessments, and design discussions while identifying and mitigating technical risks, dependencies, performance bottlenecks, and security concerns.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on system reliability, automation,



performance optimization, operational efficiency, security, compliance, and user experience.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Security, Infrastructure, Data, Enterprise Architecture, and Development teams to ensure successful solution delivery.

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers, analysts, and implementation teams through design reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, coaching, and governance activities.

- Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and UKG platform capabilities to recommend creative solutions and strategic enhancements.

- Serve as a trusted advisor during critical production incidents, complex operational challenges, and major transformation initiatives, providing subject matter expertise and architectural guidance.

- Communicate architectural decisions, recommendations, risks, trade-offs, and implementation strategies to both technical and executive leadership audiences.

- Ensure all solutions comply with organizational standards related to security, privacy, audit requirements, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.

- Support project estimation, solution planning, resource alignment, and roadmap development for Workforce Management and HR technology initiatives.





- Drive stakeholder engagement and influence decision-making across multiple business and technology functions without direct reporting authority.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

- 8-10 years of experience in Solution Architecture, Enterprise Applications, Workforce Management, or HR Technology domains.

- Strong functional and technical expertise in UKG Workforce Pro (Kronos).

- Extensive experience with HR and Payroll integrations.

- Hands-on development experience with Dell Boomi Integration Platform.

- Experience leading solution design, implementation, and support activities.

- Proven ability to gather business requirements and translate them into technical and architectural solutions.

- Experience managing stakeholders and influencing technical decisions.

- Strong understanding of APIs, middleware, integration patterns, and cloud-based architectures.

- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Retail industry experience.

- Experience managing or leading technical teams, solution architects, or integration teams.

- Extensive experience serving as an SME for Workforce Management applications.

- Experience supporting large-scale UKG Workforce Pro implementations.

- Strong knowledge of Workforce Management processes including Timekeeping, Scheduling, Attendance, and Labor Management.

- Advanced Dell Boomi development and integration expertise.

- Experience with HRIS, Payroll, and HCM platforms.

- Strong SQL, database, and data modeling knowledge.

- Experience defining architecture standards, integration frameworks, and technology roadmaps.

- Experience working in enterprise-scale environments supporting thousands of employees.
