About the Role
This is an end-to-end leadership role covering the full service lifecycle: installation, preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, complaint handling, and the feedback loop from the field to R&D.; You'll design and scale the Technical Services function as the installed base grows, while keeping all service activity compliant with global medical-device standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Own service performance: instrument uptime, MTTR, first-time-fix rate, SLA adherence and cost-to-serve
- Build SOPs, escalation matrices and CRM/ERP service workflows, and set SLAs for escalations, spares and depot repairs
- Run complaint handling in line with ISO 13485 / ISO 14971 and post-market surveillance; lead RCA and CAPA
- Build service KPI dashboards and turn field data into Design for Serviceability and Design for Reliability inputs for R&D;
- Lead,
train and certify a multi-tier team of Field Service / Application Engineers and Technical Support Specialists
- Act as the senior escalation point for lab directors, hospital administrators and reference labs
What We're Looking For
- B.E./B.Tech in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 6+ years in technical service, field-service engineering or service operations in medical devices, including 23 years leading a team or managing processes
- Hands-on experience with medical instrumentation, PCR / diagnostic equipment or point-of-care platforms
- Working knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA QSR / 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 14971
- Strong RCA skills (8D, Fishbone, FMEA) and data tools (Power BI / Tableau / Advanced Excel)
- Preferred: experience building or scaling a service function across a distributed installed base
