Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced NPD Engineer with strong knowledge of machining processes, recent product development, process planning and cost estimation. The candidate will be responsible for developing machining processes for new products, preparing cost estimates, evaluating manufacturing feasibility and ensuring cost-effective production in line with customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Handle New Product Development (NPD) activities related to machining processes.
- Develop and establish machining processes for new components and products.
- Prepare detailed machining cost estimates, including cycle time, machine-hour rates, tooling, fixtures and raw material costs.
- Analyse component drawings, GD&T; and technical specifications for manufacturing feasibility.
- Identify suitable machining operations such as CNC turning, milling, drilling, grinding and VMC operations.
- Calculate machining cycle time and optimize process parameters to improve productivity.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchase and Tooling teams during new product development.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.
- Prepare process flow charts, PFMEA,



Control Plans and other APQP-related documents.
- Conduct feasibility studies, process trials and validation for new products.
- Coordinate with customers and internal teams for technical clarifications.
- Ensure successful handover of new products from development to mass production.

Required Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes.
- Knowledge of CNC Turning, VMC, HMC, Milling, Drilling and Grinding.
- Expertise in machining cycle time calculation and process costing.
- Knowledge of tooling, fixtures and cutting tools.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.;
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA and Control Plan.
- Experience in process planning and manufacturing feasibility.
- Knowledge of cost estimation and VA/VE activities.

Educational Qualification
- Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.

Experience
- 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in NPD, Machining Process Engineering and Costing.
- Experience in the automotive manufacturing industry preferred.
- Exposure to OEM and Tier-1 customer requirements will be an added advantage.
