Manage complex cable system designs for global tenders

As a Lead Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the technical integrity of our high-voltage cable systems. You will review tender requirements, perform advanced calculations, and support the Lead Engineer in delivering high-quality technical proposals. Your work will directly benefit the tenders and projects, aligning with NKT's commitment to engineering excellence and sustainability.

Your responsibility will be to:

1. Analyse tender requirements and design cable systems
2. Perform thermal, electrical, and mechanical calculations
3. Compile and present technical documentation to clients
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams across departments
5. Ensure compliance with internal and international standards

You will be part of the Engineering team under the UET department, reporting to the Engineering Manager Tenders and Projects. This position is based in Chennai, with occasional collaboration across global teams. Structured and team-oriented engineer with precision





We are looking for a structured and methodical individual who thrives in a collaborative environment. You are results-oriented, detail-focused, and handle your work responsibly. Your effective communication skills and motivated approach make you a valuable individual who can navigate complex technical challenges with confidence.

You also have

1. A Bachelor / Master's degree in electrical engineering or other related field
2. 10+years of experience in cable system design.
3. Proficiency in thermal/electrical calculations.
4. Experience in compiling technical documentation for tenders.
5. Familiarity with remote team collaboration
6. Experience with AutoCAD.
