Key Responsibilities

Assist with provisioning, configuring, and maintaining cloud resources, primarily on AWS, under the guidance of senior engineers.

Support CI/CD pipeline creation, execution, monitoring, and troubleshooting using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline.

Help build, update, and maintain infrastructure-as-code templates using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.

Build and maintain Docker images and assist with container deployments on ECS, EKS, Kubernetes, or equivalent platforms.

Support basic cloud networking and access configuration, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, IAM roles, DNS, and load balancers.

Assist with environment-specific configuration, secrets handling, and secure deployment practices, following established standards.

Monitor system health, application logs, dashboards, and alerts using tools such as Amazon CloudWatch, Grafana, or Prometheus.

Help with routine operational tasks such as deployment checks, service restarts, backups, and basic restore procedures.

Investigate and document build, deployment, infrastructure, and application runtime issues; escalate complex or production-impacting incidents promptly.

Follow release procedures, version-control practices, change approvals, and rollback instructions.

Maintain clear technical documentation, checklists, runbooks, and deployment records.

Participate in code reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, and continuous improvement activities with the DevOps team.

Required Skills

Basic understanding of cloud computing; hands-on exposure to AWS through coursework, internship, certification, or projects is preferred.

Foundational knowledge of Linux, command-line tools, file permissions, processes, and service troubleshooting.

Basic understanding of Git, repositories, branches, commits, and pull requests.

Exposure to CI/CD concepts and at least one pipeline tool, such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.

Basic knowledge of Docker and container concepts.





Foundational understanding of networking concepts such as IP addresses, DNS, ports, HTTP/HTTPS, and firewalls/security groups.

Basic scripting ability in Bash or Python; willingness to improve automation skills.

Awareness of infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.

Good problem-solving, documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.

Willingness to learn operational best practices, security controls, monitoring, and incident-management procedures.

Good-to-Have Skills

AWS certification or relevant cloud/DevOps training.

Hands-on personal, academic, internship, or open-source projects involving AWS, Docker, CI/CD, or Terraform.

Exposure to Kubernetes, Amazon ECS/EKS, Amazon S3, EC2, RDS, IAM, Secrets Manager, or CloudWatch.

Basic understanding of databases, backups, scheduled jobs, and application configuration.

Exposure to monitoring/logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or OpenSearch.

Awareness of regulated or validated environments, including healthcare, pharma, life sciences, or GxP systems.

Awareness of deployment evidence, audit logs, change records, and standard operating procedures.

Expected Deliverables

Support for cloud resource setup and routine maintenance.

Working CI/CD pipeline steps and documented deployment workflows.

Docker images and container deployment configuration maintained with team guidance.

Monitoring checks, logs, and alerts reviewed and escalated appropriately.

Updated operational checklists, runbooks, and deployment documentation.

Support for release activities, rollback readiness, and setting checks.

Timely documentation and escalation of incidents and recurring issues.

Experience and Education

Experience: 2–4 years in DevOps, cloud engineering, cloud support, systems administration, or a related role. Candidates should have practical experience supporting cloud incture, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, deployments, and troubleshooting.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
