Interior Designer / Interior Architect (3 to 5 years) Datum | Chennai | Full time Design interiors, keep the client on board, and see the work built right on site. The role You will design and detail fit-outs for workplace, hospitality and retail clients, working with a Senior / Lead. You produce the space plans, details and GFC drawings, coordinate client sign-offs and changes, and supervise your work packages on site with the contractors.
What you will own - Interior design: space plans and test-fits, design development, materials and FF&E; palettes, RCPs.
- Drawings: joinery, ceiling, partition and flooring details; GFC sets and BOQ.
- Client coordination: prepare and present samples and options; take part in walkthroughs; record sign-offs and change requests.
- Site coordination: supervise your work packages, check setting-out and mock-ups, answer contractor queries, close snags. Must have - Space planning, concept development, materials and FF&E; joinery, ceilings, partitions and flooring detailed to GFC.
- Client coordination:
sample and mock-up boards for sign-off; recording client changes with cost and time impact.
- Site coordination: setting-out, mock-ups, quality checks, snags; coordinating contractors and answering RFIs.
- MEP in the RCP: lights, diffusers, sprinklers and detectors.
- Codes and materials: NBC Part 4 egress, accessibility, flame-spread of finishes; product performance and lead times.
- BOQ and specifications from the GFC set. Valuable to have - Workplace, hospitality or retail fit-outs - Vendor shop-drawing and sample review - SketchUp / Revit and rendering - Exposure to budgets and value engineering Qualification: B.Arch / B.Des (Interior); CoA registration preferred.
