Role summary :We are hiring a Senior DevOps Lead to own CI/CD, pipeline automation and infrastructure migrations across on-premise and cloud environments, to lead a DevOps team of at least 56 engineers, and to work hands-on as a forward deployed engineer alongside client and internal development teams.- Role : Senior DevOps Lead- Experience : 8 - 12 years, all in DevOps or IT infrastructure- Team leadership - Mandatory : has led a team of at least 56 members- Engagement model - Hands-on forward deployed engineering with client teams- Location : Bangalore- Shift model : Rotational shifts in India, US and UK hours, with extended and weekend support as neededKey Responsibilities :Migrations :- Plan and run migrations on-premise to cloud, cloud to cloud and between on-premise environments- Assess current infrastructure, applications and dependencies; define migration waves, cutover and rollback plans- Migrate databases and data with reconciliation and minimal downtime- Run hybrid on-premise and cloud setups during transitionCI/CD and automation :- Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for build, test, security scanning and deployment- Automate infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management- Set quality and security gates in pipelines (SAST, SCA, container scanning, secrets)- Standardise release, branching and environment promotion across Dev, UAT, Pre-Prod and ProdOperations and reliability :- Manage containers and Kubernetes platforms- Set up monitoring, logging and alerting; lead incident response and root-cause analysis- Maintain backup,



high availability and disaster recovery; run DR drills- Manage cloud cost, access control and security postureLeadership :- Lead and mentor a DevOps team of at least 56 engineers; own the shift roster and handover- Work with development, QA, security and client teams on releases and environments- Maintain runbooks, architecture records and operational documentationForward deployed engineering :- Embed with client teams, on site or remotely, and build, deploy and fix directly in client environments- Turn client problems into working pipelines, infrastructure and automation, not just designs- Own the outcome end to end, from first discovery through production and handoverPreferred qualifications :- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field- Certifications : Any associate level certifications in Azure, AWS or GCP- Experience in insurance or financial services delivery- Exposure to regulated environments (audits, VAPT, data privacy)Working model and support expectations :The role requires willingness to provide extensive support beyond regular hours.- Work in rotational shifts in different timezones- Provide extended-hours and weekend support for client and internal teams when needed- Be available on call for critical incidents and production deploymentsBehavioural competencies :- Ownership and accountability for uptime and releases- Calm, structured response under pressure- Explicit written and spoken communication with clients and internal teams- Team leadership and mentoring- Commitment to the project's goals and to support coverage (ref:hirist.tech)
