Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager with strong expertise in Java, Hibernate, and the Cards & Payments domain. The candidate will lead engineering teams, drive technical architecture, and oversee the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performance payment applications.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of enterprise applications using Java and Hibernate.
2. Drive technical architecture and design decisions for scalable and reliable payment processing platforms.
3. Manage and mentor engineering teams, ensuring effective delivery and technical excellence.
4. Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
5. Ensure secure coding practices, encryption, and transaction integrity across payment applications.
6. Oversee code reviews, coding standards, and reusable component development.
7. Manage CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment activities.
8. Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards applicable to Cards & Payments.
9. Drive performance optimization, database tuning, and application scalability.
10. Oversee production support, incident management, and root cause analysis.
11. Collaborate with infrastructure, operations, risk, and compliance teams to ensure platform stability.
12. Monitor application performance through logging, monitoring, and observability practices.

Guide senior engineers on Java and Hibernate best practices and technical implementation.
14. Align engineering roadmaps with business objectives and continuously improve payment platform reliability.

Mandatory Skills

- Strong expertise in Java and Core Java.
- Hands-on experience with Hibernate and ORM frameworks.
- Deep understanding of the Cards & Payments domain.
- Knowledge of payment processing, card issuance, authorization, clearing, and settlement.
- Experience in enterprise application architecture and development.
- Solid understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of secure coding, encryption, and transaction management.
- Experience with CI/CD, code reviews, and automated testing.
- Strong technical leadership and engineering team management experience.
- Experience handling production incidents and root cause analysis.

Preferred Skills

- Microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Payment gateway and external payment network integrations.
- Application monitoring, logging, and observability.
- Experience working in regulated financial services environments.

Qualifications

- 12–16 years of overall IT experience.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering enterprise-scale applications.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage hybrid teams and deliver within a day-shift schedule.
