Role Description The Tekla and Connection Design Trainee role is a full-time, on-site position based in Thousand Lights near Metro Station, Chennai. The trainee will support structural steel detailing and connection design activities using Tekla Structures and related software tools, under the guidance of senior engineers and detailers. Day-to-day tasks include preparing 3D models, generating shop and erection drawings, assisting in connection design calculations,



and updating project documentation. The role also involves coordinating with internal project teams, following established standards and checklists, and learning company workflows to ensure accuracy and timely delivery. The trainee will be expected to participate in training sessions, seek feedback, and progressively take ownership of assigned detailing and design tasks. Qualifications
• Foundational knowledge of structural engineering concepts, including steel structures, load paths, and basic connection design.
• Familiarity with Tekla Structures or similar 3D modeling/drafting software; willingness to learn Tekla and related detailing tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in drawings, dimensions, and documentation.
• Good communication and collaboration skills for working with engineers, detailers, and project managers in an office workplace.
• Ability to follow engineering standards, project procedures, and checklists, and to manage time across multiple tasks.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline (fresh graduates encouraged to apply).
