Role Description The Assistant Director Coding is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for overseeing and optimizing medical coding operations. This role involves leading and mentoring coding teams, monitoring productivity and quality metrics, and ensuring adherence to coding guidelines and payer requirements. The Assistant Director Coding collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve coding-related issues, supports training and upskilling initiatives, and drives process improvements to enhance accuracy and turnaround time. Daily activities include reviewing audit findings, implementing corrective action plans, reporting performance trends to leadership,



and contributing to strategic planning for coding and RCM functions. Qualifications
• Strong expertise in medical coding standards (e.g., ICD, CPT, HCPCS) and payer-specific requirements.
• Experience in revenue cycle management, including claims processing, denials management, and compliance.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams, coach coders, and drive performance improvement.
• Proficiency in using coding and billing software, electronic health records (EHR), and related healthcare IT systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills to monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with clinical, operations, and technology teams.
• Relevant professional certifications in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent) preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, life sciences, or a related field; advanced qualifications are an advantage.
• Prior experience in a supervisory or managerial coding role within a high-volume healthcare or RCM environment.
