We are currently seeking a suitable candidate for the position of Principal at a reputed Engineering College in Chennai.

Position Overview The Principal will provide strategic and academic leadership to the School of Engineering, ensuring excellence in teaching, research, innovation and institutional development. The role involves driving academic quality, strengthening industry partnerships, enhancing student employability and ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements. The incumbent will be responsible for creating a progressive academic environment that fosters innovation, research and holistic student development.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Academic Leadership & Administration

1. Provide strategic direction and leadership for the overall functioning of the School of Engineering.
2. Oversee curriculum development, academic planning, teaching methodologies and implementation of outcome-based education.
3. Ensure effective delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in alignment with university and regulatory guidelines.
4. Promote interdisciplinary learning and integration of emerging technologies into academic programmes.

Faculty Development & Performance Management

1. Lead faculty recruitment, development, mentoring and performance evaluation.
2. Build a strong academic team and foster a culture of research, innovation and continuous learning.
3. Encourage faculty participation in FDPs, conferences, workshops and collaborative research initiatives.
4. Research & Innovation
5. Promote quality research, consultancy, publications,



patents and sponsored research projects.
6. Encourage innovation, entrepreneurship, incubation initiatives and industry-sponsored projects.
7. Strengthen research collaborations with reputed institutions, industries and government organisations.

Accreditation & Regulatory Compliance

1. Ensure compliance with AICTE, Anna University and other applicable regulatory requirements.
2. Drive accreditation and quality assurance initiatives, including NBA, NAAC and NIRF-related processes, as applicable.
3. Monitor academic outcomes, institutional performance indicators and continuous improvement initiatives.
4. Industry Collaboration & Placements
5. Develop strategic partnerships with industries for internships, live projects, technical training and placements.
6. Strengthen industry-academia collaboration through MoUs, guest lectures and industry interactions.
7. Work closely with the placement and career development teams to improve student employability and industry readiness.

Student Development & Institutional Growth

1. Promote student-centric learning, mentoring and holistic development.
2. Encourage participation in technical competitions, hackathons, innovation challenges and entrepreneurial activities.




3. Oversee academic progression, student discipline, grievance redressal and overall student engagement.
4. Contribute to institutional growth, strategic planning and enhancement of the School's academic reputation.

Educational Qualifications

- Ph.D. in Engineering/Technology from a reputed university or institution.
- B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech. in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Solid academic credentials with an established record of teaching, research and academic administration.

Experience & Desired Profile

- Minimum 15–20 years of overall experience in teaching, research and academic administration.
- At least 5–8 years of experience in senior academic leadership roles such as Principal, Dean, Director or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in institutional administration, accreditation, academic governance and faculty management.
- Strong research profile with quality publications, patents, funded projects and industry collaborations.
- Experience in managing multidisciplinary engineering institutions or schools will be preferred.
