Back End Developer

Required Skills

- 8+ years of hands-on experience in backend development and distributed systems

- Expert-level Node.js proficiency with deep understanding of the ecosystem

- Advanced TypeScript and JavaScript (ES6+) expertise

- Production experience with NestJS, HapiJS, or Fastify at scale

- Expert-level PostgreSQL knowledge: query optimization, indexing, schema design, and performance tuning

- Advanced Redis expertise: caching strategies, session management, and optimization

- Production Kafka experience: event-driven architecture, stream processing, and message queue patterns

- Real-time streaming experience (WebSockets, SSE) in production environments

- Comprehensive unit testing expertise (Jest, Mocha, or equivalent) with TDD practices

- Strong API design and REST/GraphQL architecture knowledge

- System design and architectural thinking for scalable backend systems

- Docker and Kubernetes basics for containerization and orchestration

- Cloud platform expertise (AWS/GCP/Azure) with infrastructure knowledge

- Robust problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills

- Leadership and mentoring experience with junior/mid-level developers

- Familiarity with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines

- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration

Key Responsibilities

- Design the backend system for scalability, reliability, and performance





- Lead technical decisions and establish best practices for backend development

- Integrate and manage third-party LLM/AI APIs with optimization and fallback strategies

- Design event-driven architecture using Kafka for message streaming and asynchronous processing

- Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and indexing strategies

- Implement Redis caching strategies for performance optimization and session management

- Write comprehensive unit tests and establish testing standards across the team

- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues while continuously improving system reliability

- Mentor junior and mid-level developers: code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing

- Collaborate with Product, Frontend, QA, and DevOps teams on technical requirements and architecture

- Establish coding standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices

- Perform code reviews and maintain high code quality standards

- Implement monitoring, logging, and observability for production systems

- Lead architectural discussions and technical planning for upcoming features

- Participate in capacity planning, performance optimization, and infrastructure scaling decisions

- Ensure security, reliability, and compliance in all backend systems

- Document architectural decisions and technical specifications

- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies
