Role & responsibilities

1. Job Purpose

To plan, execute, supervise and maintain all civil infrastructure, construction and maintenance activities within the manufacturing plant. Ensure that buildings, structures, roads, drainage systems and other civil facilities are maintained in positive condition while adhering to safety, quality and project timelines.

2. Civil Maintenance

- Monitor and maintain factory buildings, production sheds, warehouses and office infrastructure.
- Identify and rectify civil defects such as cracks, leakages, flooring damage and structural issues.
- Carry out routine inspections of plant buildings and infrastructure.

1. Project Execution

- Plan and execute civil construction, renovation and expansion projects.
- Supervise contractors, subcontractors and labour teams at project sites.
- Ensure project completion within the approved budget and timeline.
- Monitor construction activities as per approved drawings and specifications.

1. Plant Infrastructure

- Maintain internal roads, drainage systems, stormwater pipelines and sewage systems.
- Supervise industrial flooring, foundations, equipment foundations and retaining walls.
- Coordinate civil works related to production machinery installation and plant modifications.

1. Technical & Documentation

- Prepare BOQs, cost estimates, material requirements and project schedules.
- Review civil drawings, structural drawings and technical specifications.
- Conduct quantity calculations and verify contractor bills.
- Maintain records of completed projects, maintenance activities and material consumption.

Contractor & Vendor Management

- Coordinate with contractors, vendors and consultants for civil works.
- Monitor contractor performance, manpower deployment and work quality.
- Ensure proper utilisation of construction materials and resources.

1. Safety & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with plant safety standards and statutory requirements.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure the use of appropriate PPE.
- Follow safe work practices during excavation, fabrication support and construction activities.
- Coordinate with the EHS department to implement safety measures.

1. Coordination

- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Electrical, Mechanical and Administration departments.
- Support plant expansion, infrastructure development and improvement projects.
- Attend breakdown-related civil maintenance requirements on a priority basis.

1. Educational Qualification

- B.E / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- Diploma in Civil Engineering with relevant industrial experience may also be considered.

1. Experience

- 37 years of experience in civil construction, industrial projects or manufacturing plant maintenance.
- Experience in factory infrastructure development and maintenance will be preferred.

1. Technical Skills

- Knowledge of AutoCAD and civil engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of RCC, structural steel, foundations and industrial flooring.
- BOQ preparation, estimation and costing.

- Knowledge of construction materials and quality standards.
- Project planning and contractor management.
- MS Office and Excel proficiency.
