- Ensure panel board designs meet international and national safety codes (such as IEC, IEEE, or NEC/local electrical acts).
- Review short-circuit capacity, voltage drop, and selectivity coordination.
Design and Engineering
- Create single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematic layouts, and wiring blueprints using CAD software (such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN).
- Size and select protective devices—such as MCBs (Miniature Circuit Breakers), MCCBs (Molded Case Circuit Breakers), RCDs/RCCBs, and surge protection devices (SPDs)—based on load calculations.
- Design bus bar ratings, neutral/ground bonding configurations, and enclosure specifications (e.g., NEMA 1 for indoor or NEMA 3R/4 for outdoor use).
- Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical data sheets.
