Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and execute API test cases based on business and technical requirements.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing of RESTful and SOAP APIs.
- Validate request/response payloads, HTTP status codes, headers, authentication, and data integrity.
- Develop and maintain automated API test scripts using tools such as Postman, Rest Assured, ReadyAPI, or similar frameworks.
- Perform database validation using SQL queries to verify backend data.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA teams to understand requirements and identify test scenarios.
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, test data, and test execution reports.
- Track, log, and manage defects using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Execute API performance and load testing using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Validate API security mechanisms, including OAuth, JWT, API Keys, and authentication/authorization workflows.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Ensure adherence to testing standards, best practices, and quality processes.

Required Skills

- Strong understanding of API testing concepts and web services architecture.
- Hands-on experience with REST and SOAP APIs.
- Experience using Postman, Swagger, SoapUI, ReadyAPI, or similar API testing tools.




- Knowledge of API automation frameworks such as Rest Assured, Karate, or Postman Collections/Newman.
- Proficiency in Java, Python, or JavaScript for test automation.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with JSON, XML, and API schema validation.
- Experience with defect management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with API security testing.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- ISTQB or relevant testing certification is a plus.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
