Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Salesforce QA Lead with 12+ years of experience in software quality assurance, specializing in manual and automation testing of Salesforce applications. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in Playwright automation, proven experience leading QA teams, and excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
The candidate will be responsible for defining QA strategies, establishing scalable automation frameworks, driving end-to-end testing, and ensuring high-quality delivery across complex Salesforce implementations.
Key Responsibilities
1. QA Strategy & Delivery Management
- Own and drive the overall QA strategy, test planning, execution, and quality assurance processes for Salesforce projects.
- Lead end-to-end testing activities across functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Define test coverage, quality metrics, defect management processes, and release readiness criteria.
- Identify testing risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks, and proactively drive resolution.
- Ensure adherence to Agile delivery methodologies and QA best practices.
2. Test Automation – Playwright
- Demonstrate strong hands-on expertise in Playwright using TypeScript/JavaScript for automated testing.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and reusable automation frameworks.
- Lead automation of Salesforce UI workflows, business processes, and end-to-end scenarios.
- Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
- Optimize automation execution, improve test reliability, and reduce flaky tests.
- Drive automation coverage, regression efficiency, and continuous improvements.
- Mentor QA engineers in Playwright automation development and best practices.
3. Salesforce Testing Expertise
- Lead testing of Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and custom Salesforce applications.
- Validate Salesforce configurations, customizations, Lightning components, Flows, Apex-driven functionality, and business processes.
- Manage testing of Salesforce integrations with external applications, APIs, and enterprise systems.
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman and REST API automation frameworks.
- Understand Salesforce security models, profiles, permission sets, roles, and sharing rules from a testing perspective.
- Ensure effective test data management across Salesforce environments.
4. Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of manual and automation QA engineers.
- Own QA resource planning, work allocation, performance monitoring, and delivery commitments.
- Conduct technical reviews of test cases, automation scripts, and QA deliverables.
- Build team capabilities through coaching, knowledge sharing, and automation best practices.
- Foster accountability, collaboration, and a quality-first engineering culture.
5. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary QA point of contact for clients, business stakeholders, and project leadership.
- Lead client discussions on QA strategy, test progress, automation roadmap, risks, and release readiness.
- Present testing dashboards, quality metrics, defect trends, and status reports to senior stakeholders.
- Manage client expectations, escalations, and critical production or release-related issues.
- Collaborate closely with Salesforce architects, developers, business analysts, product owners, and delivery managers.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 12+ years of overall experience in software testing and quality assurance, including substantial experience in Salesforce testing.
- Proven experience in a QA Lead or QA Manager role, managing testing teams and complex enterprise projects.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Playwright automation using TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Extensive experience in manual testing, functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing.
- Experience designing automation frameworks from scratch and scaling automation across enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities, configurations, customizations, and integrations.
- Experience with API testing, SQL/SOQL, and test data validation.
- Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage client relationships and QA delivery commitments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing complex, multi-cloud Salesforce implementations.
- Experience with Salesforce deployment processes, release management, and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with Salesforce-specific automation challenges, including dynamic Lightning components, asynchronous UI behavior, and complex business workflows.
- Experience with performance testing, accessibility testing, and security testing.
- Salesforce certifications or relevant testing certifications such as ISTQB.
- Experience working with distributed or offshore/onshore QA teams.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for a hands-on QA leader rather than a purely managerial resource — someone who can independently design and troubleshoot Playwright automation frameworks, lead Salesforce testing engagements, manage QA teams, and confidently interact with senior client stakeholders.
The candidate should combine robust technical expertise with delivery ownership, leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to improving software quality.
