Sense Projects Private Limited is an established construction company in India, providing construction, civil engineering, EPC, interior fit-out, and turnkey project solutions.

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant with a strong background in the construction industry to manage our accounting operations, project finances, vendor accounts, and statutory compliance.

The ideal candidate must have practical experience in construction company accounting, including contractor billing, project cost management, subcontractor payments, GST, TDS, and financial reporting.

Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for managing the company's day-to-day accounting operations and maintaining accurate financial records for construction projects.

The role requires strong accounting knowledge, hands-on experience with Tally Prime and MS Excel, and the ability to independently handle construction-related financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage accounting operations for ongoing construction and infrastructure projects.
- Maintain project-wise cost records, expenses, and financial statements.
- Track project budgets, actual expenditures, and cost variations.
- Monitor material purchases, labour expenses, subcontractor costs, and other project-related expenditures.
- Maintain accurate project-wise accounting records.

Contractor & Vendor Management

- Handle subcontractor bills, contractor invoices, and vendor payments.
- Verify contractor and subcontractor bills against work orders, purchase orders, and project records.




- Maintain vendor ledgers and accounts payable records.
- Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Monitor outstanding payments and maintain payment schedules.
- Coordinate with project teams, vendors, contractors, and management.

Billing & Financial Operations

- Prepare and verify construction-related invoices and bills.
- Handle client billing, contractor billing, and payment follow-ups.
- Maintain records of work orders, purchase orders, bills, and payment vouchers.
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Handle bank reconciliation, cash transactions, and journal entries.
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and financial documentation.

GST, TDS & Statutory Compliance

- Manage GST calculations, GST returns, and GST reconciliations.
- Handle TDS calculations, deductions, and applicable compliance.
- Maintain records of input tax credit and GST-related transactions.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory returns and payments.
- Coordinate with auditors and consultants for taxation and financial audits.

Financial Reporting

- Prepare monthly financial reports and project-wise expense statements.
- Assist in preparing balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
- Maintain general ledgers, trial balances, and financial records.
- Prepare outstanding payment reports and vendor reconciliation statements.




- Provide financial data and accounting reports to management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Mandatory experience in the construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, or EPC industry.
- B.Com or a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of construction project accounting.
- Hands-on experience with Tally Prime / Tally ERP 9.
- Valuable working knowledge of MS Excel.
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, taxation, and statutory compliance.
- Experience in contractor billing, subcontractor accounts, and vendor management.
- Knowledge of project cost tracking and financial reporting.
- Ability to independently manage accounting operations.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and numerical accuracy.

Preferred Candidate Profile

We are looking for a candidate who has previously worked with a construction company and understands the financial and accounting processes involved in construction projects.

Candidates with practical experience in the following areas will be preferred:

- Construction project accounting
- Contractor and subcontractor billing
- Project-wise cost management
- Vendor payment management
- GST and TDS compliance
- Construction material and expense tracking
- Financial reporting and account reconciliation
