Job Description – Quality Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Quality Engineer with 3–6 years of experience in the sheet metal or automotive manufacturing industry. The candidate should have hands-on experience in In-Process Quality, Standard Room Inspection, and Incoming Quality Inspection (IQC) to ensure product quality and compliance with customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities1. In-Process Quality

- Monitor quality at various stages of production, including press shop and weld shop operations.
- Conduct in-process inspections to ensure product conformity as per customer specifications.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve quality issues and process deviations.
- Monitor rejection, rework, and scrap and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to Control Plans, SOPs, and inspection standards.

2. Standard Room Inspection

- Perform dimensional inspections of sheet metal components using precision measuring instruments.
- Handle instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Dial Gauge, and other measuring equipment.
- Conduct first-piece, last-piece, and periodic inspections.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, and dimensional specifications.
- Maintain inspection reports and dimensional records.

3. Incoming Quality (IQC)

- Inspect incoming raw materials, bought-out parts, and components as per specifications.




- Verify material certificates and supplier documentation.
- Coordinate with Purchase and Supplier Quality teams regarding quality issues.
- Identify and segregate non-conforming materials.
- Maintain incoming inspection records and supplier quality reports.

4. Quality Documentation & Compliance

- Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and documentation.
- Support internal audits, customer audits, and process audits.
- Ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Support continuous improvement activities, 5S, Kaizen, and defect reduction initiatives.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Diploma / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical field.
- 3–6 years of experience in the sheet metal / automotive manufacturing industry.
- Hands-on experience in In-Process Quality, Standard Room, and Incoming Quality.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments and dimensional inspection techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.;
- Knowledge of Control Plan, PFMEA, SPC, MSA, and basic quality tools.
- Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards.
- Valuable analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Candidate

Candidates with practical exposure to press shop, weld shop, sheet metal components, and automotive OEM quality requirements will be preferred.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
