Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Middleware Administrator to lead the planning, installation, configuration, upgrade, security, performance, and operational support of enterprise Oracle WebLogic Server environments. The role places strong emphasis on Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS), and Oracle APEX, ensuring secure, highly available, and reliable application services across production and non-production environments.

The successful candidate will work closely with database administrators, APEX developers, application teams, infrastructure teams, and security stakeholders to deliver secure middleware platforms, efficient deployments, resilient integrations, and timely incident resolution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Oracle WebLogic Administration

- Plan, install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle WebLogic Server 12c/14c domains, Administration Servers, Managed Servers, Node Managers, and clusters across production and non-production environments.

- Design and support highly available WebLogic architectures, disaster recovery environments, and domain backup and restoration strategies.

- Configure and maintain JDBC data sources, connection pools, deployment plans, authentication providers, and other critical domain resources.

- Execute application deployments using ANT scripts; maintain and enhance deployment automation as required.

- Integrate WebLogic with Oracle HTTP Server and Apache HTTP Server, including the configuration of Oracle HTTP Server, Forms, and Reports components.

- Perform JVM heap optimization, garbage collection tuning, thread-dump analysis, stuck-thread diagnosis, and proactive performance tuning.

- Lead root-cause analysis for outages, failed deployments,

performance bottlenecks, connectivity failures, and middleware incidents.

2. ORDS & Oracle APEX Platform Support

- Deploy, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle REST Data Services on Oracle WebLogic Server to securely host and support Oracle APEX applications.

- Administer ORDS standalone and WebLogic deployment configurations, database connection pools, pool-size parameters, and defaults.xml settings for reliable database interaction.

- Configure and manage ORDS RESTful services, API endpoints, OAuth 2.0 security, and associated access controls.

- Monitor and troubleshoot the end-to-end APEX, ORDS, WebLogic, and Oracle Database service chain, resolving issues across the integrated platform.

3. Security, Patching & Operational Excellence

- Plan, automate, and execute quarterly Oracle Critical Patch Update and Security Patch Update lifecycles for WebLogic and related middleware, including staging cleanup and rollback preparation.

- Configure, manage, and renew SSL/TLS certificates, Java KeyStores, trust stores, and Oracle Wallets to protect credentials and end-to-end communications.

- Configure authentication providers and single sign-on integrations using technologies such as Oracle Identity and Access Management, LDAP, and SAML.

- Develop and maintain operational scripts, health checks, monitoring routines, runbooks,

and standard operating procedures.

- Participate in production support, incident response, change implementation, capacity reviews, and service-continuity exercises.

- Ensure platform changes comply with organizational security, audit, availability, and change-management standards.

Required Skills & Experience

- Strong hands-on administration experience with Oracle WebLogic Server 12c/14c, including domains, clusters, Node Manager, deployments, JDBC resources, and security configuration.

- Demonstrated experience deploying and administering ORDS on WebLogic and supporting Oracle APEX application environments.

- Strong understanding of ORDS connection pooling, RESTful services, OAuth 2.0, API security, and troubleshooting.

- Experience with Oracle HTTP Server or Apache HTTP Server integrations and enterprise SSL/TLS configuration.

- Proficiency in JVM and middleware performance analysis, log analysis, thread dumps, garbage collection, and incident root-cause analysis.

- Experience with ANT-based deployment automation and scripting in Linux/Unix environments.

- Working knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, backup and restoration, patching, and production change management.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate across DBAs, APEX developers, application owners, infrastructure teams, and security teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting business-critical Oracle APEX platforms in complex enterprise environments.

- Knowledge of Oracle Forms and Reports, Oracle Identity and Access Management, and related Oracle Fusion technologies.
