Technical Project Manager Java/AI

We are seeking a Technical Project Manager Java who began their career as a hands-on Java developer and has since grown into a delivery leadership role driving Scrum and Agile programs. The ideal candidate has built and shipped enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot and microservices, and today leads cross-functional teams through planning, execution and release. You will bring the technical depth to engage credibly with Java architects and engineers, the project management discipline to deliver predictably, and a working understanding of Agentic AI and up-to-date GenAI concepts to help steer AI-enabled initiatives for our clients.

What You Will Do:

- Lead and manage cross-functional engineering teams (Java backend, frontend, QA, DevOps) to deliver high-quality enterprise software projects on time and within scope.
- Act as Scrum Master / Agile delivery lead: facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews/demos and retrospectives.
- Own end-to-end delivery across the SDLC – release planning, sprint tracking, effort estimation, capacity planning, timelines and status reporting.
- Serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business requirements into epics, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Engage with Java architects and developers on solution design – microservices, REST APIs, Spring Boot services, data persistence and integration patterns – and ensure alignment with business objectives.




- Use your Java development background to review technical approaches, challenge estimates, unblock teams and assess code-quality, technical-debt and performance risks.
- Identify and mitigate risks, manage cross-team dependencies and resolve conflicts proactively.
- Drive engineering excellence through CI/CD, automated testing strategies, code-review practices and structured release management.
- Support delivery of AI-enabled and Agentic AI initiatives – help scope use cases, coordinate between Java/application teams and AI/ML teams, and track delivery of LLM- and agent-based features.
- Track and report delivery health using JIRA, Confluence or Azure DevOps, with clear metrics such as velocity, burndown, cycle time and defect trends.
- Mentor team members and promote continuous improvement of Agile practices across the account.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8–15 years of overall experience, with at least 4 years in a Technical Project Manager, Scrum Master or Agile delivery role.
- Strong hands-on Java development experience early in career (typically 3–5+ years) – Core Java, OOP, collections, multithreading, Spring / Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, RESTful services and microservices.
- Solid understanding of system architecture, APIs, relational and NoSQL databases, and build/development pipelines (Maven/Gradle, Git, Jenkins or equivalent).
- Proven expertise in People Management, Scrum, Agile and – Project Management.
