Data Tech Lead Manager —

Location: Mumbai Reports to: Head of Data Engineering Team Size: 18 (Direct + Matrixed)

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Data Tech Lead Manager to own end-to-end management of the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) built on Databricks (Azure), supporting Bank's data ecosystem across 100+ connected systems. This role leads a 18-member production support team spanning monitoring, development, BI/analytics, risk reporting, and agentic AI, and is accountable for platform reliability, governance, security,



and continuous improvement across the full data lifecycle — from ingestion to consumption.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Data Platform Ownership

- Own end-to-end management of the EDP across all layers: Sources Data Acquisition Processing & Management Data Delivery Insights & Consumption
- Ensure seamless integration and stability across 100+ connected source systems (core banking, credit bureau, card management, and other structured/semi-structured/unstructured sources)
- Oversee data acquisition pipelines (CDC, ELT, file transfer, APIs) landing into Raw, Archive, and curated zones on ADLS
- Govern the Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) built on Iceberg and Delta Lake, including Master Data Management (consolidation, cleansing, deduplication)
- Ensure Unity Catalog-based governed data access, lineage, and right-data-to-right-people controls
- Oversee data delivery channels — Power BI, AI/BI Dashboards & Genie, API serving endpoints, file transfer, and message broker integrations
- Enable and scale Agentic AI / AI-ML use cases, including the analytical layer (training data, AI/ML libraries, MLflow, NLP/NLG) and sandbox/DSU environments

Platform Operations & Governance

- Drive production support, incident management, RCA, and SLA adherence across the platform
- Own platform-wide frameworks: Data Governance & Lineage, Data Security Management, Data Quality Management,



Ingestion & Audit Framework, Logging & Monitoring, Release Management & DevOps (CI/CD), FinOps, and Test Management
- Ensure audit, compliance, and regulatory readiness for risk and regulatory reporting functions
- Manage capacity planning, platform upgrades, and cost optimization on Azure

People & Stakeholder Management

- Lead, mentor, and manage a cross-functional team of 18
- Act as primary point of contact between engineering teams, business stakeholders, and leadership
- Define and track KPIs/OKRs for team and platform performance

Required Qualifications

- B.Tech (CS/IT or related field)
- 8–14 years overall experience with 3+ years in a managerial/team lead role
- Robust hands-on exposure to Databricks on Azure — end-to-end platform ownership

Technical Skills (mapped to EDP architecture):

- Data Acquisition & Integration: CDC tools, Azure Data Factory, ELT pipelines, API-based ingestion, file transfer frameworks (Solace, Lakeflow or equivalent streaming/messaging tools)
- Storage & Processing: ADLS (Raw/Archive/Cold zones), Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, Lakebase, Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
- Data Governance & MDM: Unity Catalog, Master Data Management tools (e.g., Posidex), data lineage and cataloging
- Analytics & AI/ML: MLflow, NLP/NLG frameworks, AI/ML libraries, sandbox/DSU environments, Agentic AI application development
- BI & Reporting: Power BI, AI/BI Dashboards, AI/BI Genie
- Platform Engineering: CI/CD & release management, data quality frameworks, logging/monitoring tools, data security & access management, FinOps practices
- Domain: Banking/BFSI — core banking (Finacle), card management (Vision Plus/Pulse), credit bureau (TransUnion) integrations preferred
- Experience managing large-scale production support teams in a regulated banking environment
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and incident-management skills
