Role Description The Structural Tekla Modeller will work full time on-site in Chennai, collaborating closely with structural engineers and project teams to develop detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings using Tekla Structures. Day-to-day tasks include creating and updating steel and concrete structural models, generating general arrangement and shop drawings, and preparing reports such as bolt lists, assembly lists, and material take-offs. The role involves ensuring models and drawings comply with relevant codes, client specifications, and internal standards, as well as coordinating with design, production, and quality teams to resolve technical issues.





The modeller will participate in design reviews, incorporate mark-ups and revisions, maintain organized project documentation, and support efficient workflow across multiple projects and deadlines.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in Tekla Structures for structural steel and concrete modeling, including detailing of connections, assemblies, and fabrication drawings.
- Solid understanding of structural engineering concepts, industry standards, and codes relevant to offshore, marine, or industrial structures.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and 3D/2D CAD inputs, with the ability to translate them into accurate Tekla models.
- Solid knowledge of fabrication and erection practices, including material grades, welding symbols, bolting details, and constructability considerations.
- Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, communicate clearly, and incorporate feedback from engineers, clients, and production teams.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and capability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Diploma or degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or a related field; prior experience as a Tekla Modeller in steel or marine/offshore projects is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with other CAD/BIM tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) and basic knowledge of project documentation and quality control processes is an advantage.
