Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Sous Chef role based in Mumbai.

The Sous

Chef will support the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and quality control for pan-Asian dishes.

Responsibilities include supervising kitchen team members, maintaining food safety and hygiene standards, managing stock and mise en place, and ensuring consistent execution of wagamama india recipes and presentation guidelines. The role involves coordinating with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service,



assisting with training new kitchen staff, and contributing ideas for menu improvements in line with the brand’s “kaizen” philosophy.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Asian cuisine preparation, cooking techniques, and food presentation.
- Ability to supervise kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and support a positive, collaborative team environment.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and kitchen health and safety practices.
- Experience in high-volume, fast-paced restaurant kitchens, ideally within Asian or pan-Asian concepts.
- Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize during busy service periods.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with kitchen and front-of-house teams.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required in a restaurant setting.
- Culinary diploma or relevant skilled training preferred; prior experience as a Junior Sous Chef or equivalent is an advantage.
