Role overview

Own solution and application architecture for large-scale banking applications and digital platforms. Partner with business, product, engineering, security, infrastructure and operations teams to design secure, scalable, highly available and resilient solutions for retail and corporate banking.

Key responsibilities

- Define and govern end-to-end solution architecture, technical standards, high- and low-level designs, technology choices and reusable frameworks.
- Translate business needs into Java/Spring Boot-based microservices, API-first and event-driven solutions; lead legacy application modernization.
- Design cloud-native application deployments on Kubernetes/OpenShift, including containerization, networking, ingress, service discovery, scaling, secrets, RBAC and workload management.
- Architect integrations with core banking, payments, digital channels, authentication systems, third-party services and API gateways; apply API lifecycle and security standards.
- Engineer for performance, resilience, high availability, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, business continuity and production readiness.
- Drive architecture reviews, proof-of-concepts, design decisions, technical governance, issue resolution and mentoring across development teams.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure and audit teams to address regulatory, data protection,



vulnerability and enterprise governance requirements.

Core technical requirements

- Java / Spring Boot (or equivalent enterprise backend stack), distributed systems, microservices, domain-driven design, event-driven patterns and REST API architecture.
- Kubernetes / OpenShift, Docker/OCI containers, Helm, service mesh concepts, CI/CD, DevSecOps, Git workflows and Infrastructure as Code.
- Public, private and hybrid cloud architecture; scalable and secure platform deployment patterns.
- API gateway, OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect, SSO, IAM and service-to-service security.
- Kafka or comparable messaging platforms; Oracle/PostgreSQL or comparable RDBMS, SQL, Redis/caching and database HA strategies.
- Observability: monitoring, centralized logging, metrics, tracing, health probes, deployment/rollback strategy and incident troubleshooting.

Leadership and domain fit

- Banking/financial services technology experience, preferably supporting complex enterprise or digital banking systems.
- Ability to lead technical discussions with senior stakeholders, review designs, drive roadmaps and balance delivery needs with risk and technical debt.
- Comfortable working in regulated environments with strong security, audit,



change management and operational controls.

Preferred qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related discipline.
- TOGAF, relevant cloud architecture credentials, CKA/CKAD or similar certifications are advantageous.
- Experience in large-scale digital banking transformation and multi-team delivery.

Screening Criteria

- 6 yrs plus experience in JAVA Banking/financial services technology experience, preferably supporting complex enterprise or digital banking systems.
- Ability to lead technical discussions with senior stakeholders, review designs, drive roadmaps and balance delivery needs with risk and technical debt
