About the Role

We are looking for a Software QA Engineer with 1–2 years of hands-on experience in manual and automation testing, particularly using Selenium WebDriver.

The ideal candidate should have a robust understanding of software testing methodologies, practical experience in writing and executing Selenium automation scripts, API testing and SQL database validation. The role involves identifying defects, ensuring software quality and collaborating with development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyse software requirements and prepare test scenarios, test cases and test data.
- Perform manual testing, including functional, regression, integration, system, smoke and sanity testing.
- Develop, execute, debug and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver.
- Work with automation frameworks and programming languages used for Selenium-based testing.
- Perform API testing using Postman, Swagger or similar tools to validate responses and error handling.
- Identify, reproduce, document and track software defects using Jira.
- Conduct regression and impact testing to ensure existing functionalities remain stable after code changes.
- Write SQL queries to validate database records, backend operations and data integrity.
- Maintain test execution reports and Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTM).
- Collaborate with developers, product managers and business analysts to resolve defects and improve software quality.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning and daily stand-up meetings.





Required Technical Skills 1. Manual Testing

- Functional, Regression, Integration, System, Smoke and Sanity Testing.
- Manual and Exploratory Testing.
- Test case preparation, execution and defect reporting.

2. Automation Testing – Selenium

- Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver.
- Ability to write, execute, debug and maintain automation scripts.
- Knowledge of Selenium automation frameworks such as TestNG or JUnit.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Java or Python.
- Understanding of locators, XPath, waits, assertions and web element interactions.

3. API & Database Testing

- REST API testing using Postman or Swagger.
- Understanding of HTTP methods, status codes and API responses.
- Basic to intermediate SQL queries for database verification and data integrity testing.

4. Tools & Development Ecosystem

- Jira for defect tracking and management.
- Git, GitHub or GitLab for version control.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Jenkins.
- Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies.

Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related technical field.
- 1–2 years of full-time, hands-on experience in software testing.
- Practical experience in both manual testing and Selenium automation.
- Strong analytical, logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to identify defects, edge cases and functional issues.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
