Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Software Engineer Intern: Java. The intern will assist in designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications and services, following established software development practices. Day-to-day tasks include writing and reviewing code, participating in code discussions, working with databases, and contributing to testing and debugging activities.

The intern will collaborate with senior engineers to implement features, fix defects, and improve application performance.



The role also involves learning current tools and frameworks, documenting technical work, and supporting ongoing projects related to Ideactra’s technology initiatives.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess skills in Software Development and Software Design, with a foundational understanding of Java and object-oriented programming principles.
- Candidates should possess Programming skills, including experience with Java and familiarity with common development tools, IDEs, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Databases, including basic SQL, data modeling concepts, and interaction with relational or NoSQL databases.
- Candidates should possess Testing skills, including writing unit tests, understanding basic testing methodologies, and assisting with debugging and quality assurance.
- Basic understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software engineering fundamentals.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in distributed teams.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
