Role Summary

Serve as a key member of an agile engineering team responsible for designing, developing, and delivering secure, scalable enterprise software solutions. Contribute to architecture, production code, system resiliency, and responsible AI-enabled workflows in a regulated setting.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and troubleshoot production-grade enterprise software using Java
- Build and maintain microservices-based architectures, ensuring secure and resilient systems
- Implement, manage, and optimize Apache Kafka messaging systems in production
- Develop and maintain Kubernetes deployments, including configuration and security
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, supporting agile software delivery
- Optimize database schemas and queries for SQL/NoSQL technologies
- Apply secure coding practices and remediate security vulnerabilities
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for distributed, high-availability systems
- Collaborate in agile teams through sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
- Ensure application resiliency using fault tolerance, retry logic, and graceful degradation
- Develop and maintain unit and integration tests to achieve high code coverage




- Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding tools responsibly for code generation and review

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree (B.E. / B.Tech / MCA) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent; or formal software engineering certifications (Oracle, AWS, Microsoft, or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years applied software engineering experience in large corporate or enterprise environments
- Minimum 4 years hands-on, production-grade Java development (Java 8+, multithreading, collections, JVM tuning, design patterns, Spring Boot, REST API)
- Minimum 3 years hands-on production-grade Apache Kafka (producer/consumer, topic/partition management, offset management, Kafka Streams, fault-tolerant messaging)
- Minimum 3 years hands-on Kubernetes (pod lifecycle, deployments, services, config maps, secrets, HPA, RBAC, troubleshooting)
- Minimum 3 years designing/building microservices at enterprise scale
- Minimum 3 years with CI/CD toolchains (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years hands-on with SQL/NoSQL databases (query optimization, stored procedures, schema design, indexing)
- Demonstrated application security expertise: OWASP Top 10, secure code review, vulnerability remediation
- Ability to independently produce architecture/design artifacts for complex distributed systems
- Minimum 3 years agile/Scrum team experience (sprint planning,



backlog grooming, retrospectives)
- Experience designing for application resiliency (fault tolerance, circuit breakers, retry logic, bulkhead patterns, graceful degradation)
- Minimum 3 years with testing frameworks (JUnit 5, Mockito, TestContainers, or equivalent), TDD, and 80%+ code coverage
- Minimum 2 years hands-on with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor AI) and responsible AI usage
- All experience must be from large corporate, enterprise, or regulated financial services environments

Nice to Have

- Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP); cloud certification
- Experience running Kafka on Kubernetes using Strimzi or Confluent Operator
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies (React, Angular, Vue.js)
- Experience in financial services, capital markets, investment banking, or payments technology
- Exposure to GraphQL API design and development
- Experience with observability/monitoring tools (Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus)
- Exposure to machine learning, AI platform development, or data engineering pipelines
