Job Purpose:

To oversee the lifecycle, maintenance scheduling, and service reporting of logistics assets (such as commercial vehicles, trailers, material handling equipment, or containers). The role ensures high asset uptime, manages repair workflows with internal shops or external vendors, and tracks cost-efficiency and warranty compliance.

Key Responsibilities

- Asset Lifecycle & Maintenance Tracking:
- Monitor the operational status, mileage/hours, and preventive maintenance (PM) schedules of all logistics assets.
- Coordinate regular service intervals to minimize fleet downtime and keep supply chain operations running smoothly.
- Service Advising & Work Orders:
- Act as the primary point of contact for drivers, fleet operators, and maintenance technicians to log vehicle or equipment issues.
- Open, track, and close repair work orders in the Asset Management System (AMS) or Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Vendor & Workshop Coordination:
- Liaise with internal repair shops and external service vendors/dealerships to schedule repairs, negotiate labor/parts pricing, and approve estimates.
- Consult with technicians on repair alternatives, turnaround times, and cost-saving measures.
- Cost & Warranty Management:




- Review repair invoices for accuracy against contracted rates and track parts/service warranty protections.
- Maintain up-to-date records of capital/operating expenditures per asset.
- Reporting & Process Improvement:
- Generate weekly/monthly reports on asset downtime, repair costs, maintenance compliance, and vendor performance.
- Identify recurring mechanical failures or operational bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

- Education: Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related business/technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- Experience: 25 years of experience in fleet management, logistics operations, technical service advising, or asset lifecycle coordination.

- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CMMS, ERP, or fleet/asset management software.
- Basic understanding of commercial vehicle mechanics, spare parts inventory, and maintenance workflows.

- Soft Skills:
- Robust communication and stakeholder management skills to coordinate between drivers, mechanics, and finance teams.
- Good negotiation and problem-solving abilities under tight delivery/logistics schedules.
