Java Developer (Spring Boot / Apache Camel)

Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Java Developer to build and maintain integration-focused services using Spring Boot and Apache Camel. You will implement enterprise integration patterns, expose and secure APIs through Kong Integration Gateway, and deploy containerized workloads on Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Implement integration patterns (routing, transformation, aggregation, splitting, error handling, retries) using Apache Camel.
- Build and maintain Camel routes connecting REST APIs, messaging systems, databases, and third-party services.
- Configure and manage APIs, routes, and policies on Kong Integration Gateway (authentication, rate limiting, traffic control).
- Containerize applications with Docker and deploy and operate them on Kubernetes.
- Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews to maintain quality.
- Work with CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment.
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve the performance and reliability of integration flows.
- Collaborate with architects, QA, DevOps,



and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Document integration designs, API contracts, and operational runbooks.

Technical Skills The ideal candidate should have 5–10 years of experience in IT/software development, with solid hands-on expertise in Java and deep experience in Spring Boot. Hands-on implementation experience with Apache Camel and Enterprise Integration Patterns is mandatory, along with working knowledge of Kong Integration Gateway and hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

Required

- 5-10 years of IT experience with Java development.
- Deep hands-on experience with Spring Boot.
- Experience implementing integration patterns using Apache Camel.
- Knowledge of Kong Integration Gateway.
- Hands-on Docker and Kubernetes experience.

Preferred

- Experience with messaging platforms (Kafka, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ).
- Familiarity with REST/OpenAPI design and API security (OAuth2, JWT).
- Experience with CI/CD tooling and a cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
