We are looking for an experienced LaTeX Pagination Specialist / Specialist - LaTeX Composition to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end page composition, layout structuring, and pagination of technical journals, academic books, and scientific literature using LaTeX.

Key Responsibilities

LaTeX Composition & Formatting: Convert raw text/manuscripts (Word, XML, ASCII, TEX) into high-quality, publication-ready PDF and LaTeX deliverables adhering strictly to publisher guidelines and style sheets.

Complex Element Handling: Typeset complex mathematical equations, chemical formulas, multi-column layouts, figures, tables, and references using specialized LaTeX packages (amsmath, tikz, pgfplots, bibtex, biber, etc.).

Macro & Template Development: Modify, debug, and optimize customized .cls (class) and .sty (style) files to automate composition workflows and ensure consistency across large publication titles.

Pre-Flight & Quality Control:



Perform quality checks on generated PDFs for proper page breaks, running headers, widows/orphans, high-resolution graphic placement, and font embedding.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve compilation errors, package conflicts, and formatting anomalies in TeX environments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with Project Managers, Copyeditors, and Quality Assurance teams to meet tight production turnaround times (TAT) while maintaining high accuracy standards.

Key Tech Stack & Skills

Required

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Printing Technology, or a related field.

Experience: 2 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in LaTeX pagination within STM (Science, Technical, Medical) publishing or academic typesetting environments.

Technical Skills:

- Proficient in LaTeX2e, TeX, pdfLaTeX, XeLaTeX, or LuaLaTeX.

- Hands-on knowledge of LaTeX macro programming and template modification.

- Familiarity with graphics insertion, MathType-to-LaTeX conversions, and bibTeX management.

- Working knowledge of XML/HTML parsing, regular expressions (RegEx), and scripting languages (Perl, Python, or Shell) is a strong plus.
