As part of the regional industrial ecosystem, it is involved in the Product Development, Manufacturing and Delivery of High Level Assemblies & Components solutions for OEMs of Semiconductor, Energy , Elevator, Health Care, Textile, CNC Machine Tool Sectors/ applications.

Position: Sr Engineer / Assistant Manager Sheet Metal Manufacturing

Experience: 7–8 Years

Education: Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

1. Job Purpose

Responsible for managing day-to-day sheet metal manufacturing operations, achieving production targets, improving productivity, ensuring product quality, optimizing manpower and machine utilization, and ensuring timely delivery to customers.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Production Planning & Execution

- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production plans based on customer requirements.
- Ensure production targets are achieved as per the delivery schedule.
- Monitor WIP, pending orders and production shortages.
- Coordinate with PPC, Purchase, Stores and Quality departments.
- Ensure effective utilization of manpower, machines and materials.
- Monitor production performance and take corrective actions for deviations.

B. Sheet Metal Manufacturing Processes

- Positive knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes:
- Laser Cutting / CNC Punching
- Shearing and Notching
- CNC Press Brake Bending
- Power Press Operations
- MIG / TIG / Spot Welding
- Riveting and Hardware Insertion
- Grinding, Deburring and Finishing
- Assembly and Packing
- Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, jigs and process development.




- Understanding of sheet metal drawings, GD&T; and tolerances.
- Knowledge of material grades such as CRCA, HR, GI, SS and Aluminium.

C. Productivity & Process Improvement

- Identify and implement productivity improvement activities.
- Improve machine utilization and operator efficiency.
- Reduce cycle time, setup time and manufacturing cost.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen and 7 QC tools.
- Identify and eliminate manufacturing bottlenecks.
- Drive continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.

D. Quality Management

- Ensure quality standards are maintained at every manufacturing stage.
- Monitor rejection, rework and process deviations.
- Coordinate with Quality for customer complaints and corrective actions.
- Implement root cause analysis using 5 Why and Fishbone techniques.
- Ensure compliance with control plans and work instructions.

E. Manpower Management

- Allocate manpower based on machine loading and production requirements.
- Monitor operator productivity and skill levels.
- Identify training requirements and develop multi-skilled operators.
- Ensure discipline, safety and adherence to standard operating procedures.

F. Machine & Maintenance Coordination

- Monitor machine breakdowns and downtime.
- Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Improve machine availability and OEE.
- Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of tools, dies and fixtures.

G. Inventory & Material Management

- Monitor raw material consumption and process wastage.




- Ensure proper material handling and traceability.
- Coordinate with Stores and Purchase for material availability.
- Monitor WIP and finished goods inventory.
- Implement FIFO and Kanban wherever applicable.

H. Customer & Cross-functional Coordination

- Coordinate with customer-facing teams for delivery requirements.
- Review customer shortages and urgent requirements.
- Ensure timely dispatch as per customer schedules.
- Participate in customer audits and process reviews.

4. Technical Skills Required

- Strong knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of CNC Press Brake ,CNC Punching, MIG & TIG Welding, Assembly Operations.
- Knowledge of production planning and control.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of MS Excel and ERP systems.
