BU Consultants is looking for a skilled Python Infrastructure Engineer to join a core technology team responsible for developing and maintaining foundational Python infrastructure that supports multiple business-critical applications.

The ideal candidate should have advanced Python programming skills, strong computer science fundamentals and experience building high-performance software infrastructure, data services and developer tools.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop and maintain foundational Python infrastructure used across multiple applications.
- Build infrastructure solutions for analytical computations, data storage and data services.
- Develop efficient data storage and retrieval mechanisms.
- Create high-performance and user-friendly data structures and data analysis tools.
- Build and optimize parallel programming solutions to support distributed computing and grid-based workloads.
- Develop reusable server infrastructure and frameworks for building web servers.
- Build and maintain Python-based unit testing and documentation frameworks.




- Optimize core libraries and improve application performance using lower-level programming languages.
- Explore and implement compilation and performance optimization techniques in Python.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable and reusable infrastructure solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- 4–6 years of strong experience in advanced Python programming.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
- Excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals and programming concepts.
- Strong software design and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent analytical and reasoning skills.
- Passion for technology and building high-quality software infrastructure.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

- Knowledge of C and C++.
- Experience with Cython and Numba.
- Understanding of Ahead-of-Time (AOT) and Just-in-Time (JIT) compilation techniques.
- Experience optimizing Python code using lower-level languages and compilation techniques.
- Exposure to parallel programming, data structures, performance engineering and infrastructure development.
