Production OSD: Compression Operator

- Compression Machine Operation & Setup: Set up, assemble, and operate high-speed rotary tablet compression presses (e. g., Fette, Korsch, Cadmach) per Batch Manufacturing Record (BMR) specifications.
- Tooling Management & Care: Inspect, clean, polish, install, and store compression tooling (punches and dies) strictly following SOPs, ensuring proper care to prevent punch tip damage or sticking.
- Process Parameter Control: Monitor and adjust critical compression parameters, including turret speed (RPM), main compression force, pre-compression force, feeder speed, and fill depth.
- In-Process Quality Control (IPQC): Perform routine inline IPQC tests, including tablet weight variation, thickness, hardness, friability, disintegration time (DT), and individual weight monitoring.
- Line Clearance Execution: Execute thorough Type A/B line clearance protocols, machine dismantling, dust extractor cleaning, and bay clearance during product changeovers to avoid cross-contamination.
- Real-Time BMR & Logbook Entries:

Record real-time operating data, tablet yield, downtime, compression parameters, and IPQC test results in BMRs and machine logbooks adhering to ALCOA+ rules.
- Troubleshooting & Defect Mitigation: Identify and resolve routine tablet compression defects (e. g., capping, lamination, sticking, picking, weight variation) during processing.
- Material Handling & Yield Tracking: Manage core granule feeding into hoppers, monitor metal detector/de-duster operations, and track bulk tablet yield and rejection reconciliations.
- Audit Preparedness: Maintain compression bays, tooling rooms, and auxiliary equipment in a continuous state of cleanliness and audit readiness for regulatory inspections ( USFDA, MHRA, WHO ).
- EHS & Safety Enforcement: Wear mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE), ensure safety interlocks on compression presses are functional, and uphold strict 5S workplace organization standards.
