Job Responsibilities - Product Designer (Houseware/Homeware industry)

- Design and develop lifestyle and furniture products in wood and bamboo, from concept to production-ready handover, aligned to market trends, manufacturing capability and cost targets.
- Develop concepts, sketches and design directions for wood and bamboo lifestyle and furniture products.
- Create accurate 2D/3D models and detailed production drawings (joinery, dimensions, tolerances).
- Select suitable materials, finishes, hardware and joinery methods.
- Work with the plant team on prototyping, sampling and trials, and resolve design issues on the shop floor.
- Ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective and meet quality and durability standards.
- Research trends and create original product designs.
- Prepare design presentations, BOMs and tech packs for internal teams and customers.
- Recommend cost-effective, attractive packaging that is implicit of bamboo’s properties.
- Track project timelines and update stages in the NPD tracker.

Good to Have

- Experience with export or private-label programs.
- Exposure to vendor and artisan development.

Key Experience / Expertise

- Self-initiated and proactive.
- Robust hands-on knowledge of wood and bamboo properties, treatment, joinery, finishing and production processes.
- Creative thinking, visualization and presentation skills.




- Strong ergonomic understanding.
- Ability to test and iterate ideas from both user and manufacturing perspectives.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, KeyShot and Adobe Suite.

Experience : 3+ years mandatory in wood and bamboo for houseware/homeware industry

Work Arrangement

Mumbai office and travel to Khatalwada (Umbergaon) plant, for direct exposure to production and faster turnaround from idea to reality.

Education Qualification/ Technical

M Des/ B Des. / Diploma in Lifestyle/Furniture design preferably from NIFT, Pearl Academy or a similar design institute.
