To manage and control hand moulding operations in the foundry, ensuring proper mould preparation, sand quality, core setting, gating and risering arrangements, mould assembly, and readiness for pouring. Responsible for achieving production targets while maintaining casting quality, minimizing moulding defects, improving productivity, and ensuring safe working practices.

- Execute hand moulding activities as per production planning and customer requirements.

- Ensure mould preparation according to approved drawings and process sheets.

- Ensure proper pattern setting and positioning.

- Supervise cope and drag preparation.

- Ensure proper ramming and uniform mould hardness.

- Ensure correct mould cavity dimensions and surface finish.

- Ensure proper mould closing, alignment, and clamping.

- Verify mould condition before releasing for pouring.

- Ensure proper identification and traceability of moulds.

- Ensure proper pattern cleaning and application of parting material.

- Verify pattern condition and dimensional accuracy.





- Ensure correct pattern positioning.

- Avoid pattern damage during mould preparation.

- Ensure proper withdrawal of patterns without damaging the mould cavity.

- Ensure adequate mould venting.

- Ensure proper mould surface finishing and coating wherever required.

- Prevent mould cracks, sand drops, and loose sand.

- Ensure cores are available as per production requirements.

- Verify core identification and condition.

- Ensure proper core positioning as per approved drawings.

- Check core prints and seating arrangements.

- Ensure proper core support and chaplet positioning, wherever applicable.

- Verify core venting and bonding.

- Ensure correct cope and drag alignment.

- Prevent core shift and mould mismatch.
