Position Overview

Parul University invites applications for the position of Principal – Faculty of Engineering. The University seeks an accomplished academic leader with extensive experience in engineering education, research, academic administration, and institutional development to lead the Faculty of Engineering towards excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and industry engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

- Provide strategic direction for academic programmes, curriculum development, and academic quality enhancement.
- Ensure engineering programmes align with emerging technologies, industry requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
- Promote outcome-based education, experiential learning, and interdisciplinary teaching.
- Strengthen laboratory infrastructure, technical facilities, and project-based learning.

Research & Innovation

- Promote high-quality research publications, patents, funded projects, and consultancy initiatives.
- Encourage research in emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Robotics, VLSI, Cybersecurity, and Quantum Technologies.
- Facilitate national and international research collaborations.
- Promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer.

Faculty Development

- Lead faculty recruitment, mentoring, performance evaluation, and professional development.
- Encourage faculty participation in research projects, conferences, FDPs, and industry collaborations.
- Build a solid academic and research-oriented faculty team.

Student Development

- Promote internships, industrial training, technical competitions, hackathons, and innovation projects.
- Strengthen student placement, entrepreneurship,



and professional development initiatives.
- Encourage participation in technical societies and research activities.

Industry Collaboration

- Establish partnerships with engineering industries, technology companies, and research organisations.
- Facilitate industry-sponsored projects, consultancy, internships, and collaborative programmes.
- Strengthen industry-academia engagement.

Accreditation & Quality Assurance

- Ensure compliance with applicable UGC, AICTE, NAAC, NIRF, and other statutory requirements.
- Lead accreditation, ranking, academic audits, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Monitor academic standards and institutional performance.

Administration & Governance

- Oversee academic planning, budgeting, infrastructure, and administrative operations.
- Coordinate with University leadership and statutory authorities.
- Drive student enrolment, institutional growth, and academic excellence.

Eligibility Criteria

- Ph.D. in Engineering / Technology from a recognised University.
- Relevant postgraduate qualification with an excellent academic record.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in teaching, research, industry, or academic administration in the relevant discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in academic leadership / administrative roles such as Principal, Dean, Associate Dean, Director, Professor, Head of Department, or equivalent.
- Significant research contributions, publications, patents, funded projects, and academic achievements.
- Proven experience in academic administration, accreditation, and institutional development.
- Eligibility as per applicable AICTE / UGC norms.
