– Plumbing & Fire Fighting Site Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities:

Plumbing Works

- Study and understand plumbing layout drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.
- Execute domestic water supply, drainage, soil, waste, and rainwater piping works.
- Supervise installation of underground and overhead water tanks.
- Execute installation of water supply pumps, transfer pumps, and booster pumps.
- Supervise installation of CPVC, UPVC, HDPE, PPR, SWR, and other piping systems.
- Ensure proper pipe routing, alignment, slope, supports, and sleeve provisions.
- Supervise installation of sanitary fixtures, faucets, valves, and accessories.
- Conduct pressure testing, leakage testing, and drainage testing.
- Coordinate plumbing shaft, toilet, kitchen, and terrace-related works.

Fire Fighting Works

- Study and execute fire fighting drawings and specifications.
- Supervise installation of fire hydrant and sprinkler systems.
- Execute installation of MS/GI fire fighting pipelines.
- Supervise installation of fire pumps, jockey pumps, and diesel pumps.
- Ensure installation of sprinkler heads, landing valves, hose reels, and fire hose cabinets.
- Monitor installation of underground and overhead fire fighting pipelines.
- Ensure proper pipe supports, painting, identification, and valve installation.
- Conduct hydrostatic pressure testing, flushing, and commissioning.
- Coordinate firefighting inspections with consultants and authorities.

Site Execution and Coordination

- Execute daily site activities as per the project schedule.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, HVAC, and finishing teams.
- Ensure sleeves, openings, inserts, and embedded pipes are provided before concrete.
- Check site measurements and verify work against approved drawings.
- Prepare daily progress reports and work completion reports.
- Manage site manpower, subcontractors,



and material requirements.
- Coordinate material inspection and approval before installation.
- Identify site discrepancies and raise RFIs for consultant clarification.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned work areas and floors.

Quality Control and Safety

- Ensure installation as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Follow approved method statements and inspection test plans.
- Conduct work inspections with consultants and QA/QC teams.
- Maintain inspection requests, test reports, and checklists.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working practices.
- Follow work-at-height, hot-work, and confined-space safety requirements wherever applicable.
- Avoid rework through proper supervision and quality checks.

Required Technical Knowledge

- Plumbing and firefighting system installation.
- Reading and interpreting MEP drawings.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD drawings.
- Knowledge of BOQ and material specifications.
- Pipe sizing, routing, and installation methods.
- Plumbing and firefighting pressure testing.
- Fire pump room installation.
- NBC, relevant IS codes, and NFPA standards.
- Site measurement and quantity estimation.

Educational Qualification

- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / ITI / B.E. Mechanical Engineering.
- Relevant technical qualifications in plumbing and firefighting.

Experience

- 2–5 years of experience in plumbing and firefighting works at building construction sites.
- Experience in residential towers, commercial projects preferred.
