Job Title: Neapolitan Pizza Chef Helper

Big Yellow Door Cafe is looking for a passionate, hardworking, and dedicated Neapolitan Pizza Chef Helper to assist our pizza chef in preparing authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas. The ideal candidate should have an interest in Italian cuisine, basic kitchen knowledge, and a willingness to learn traditional pizza-making techniques.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist the Neapolitan Pizza Chef in preparing authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas.
- Help with pizza dough preparation, weighing, portioning, and dough ball handling.
- Assist in dough fermentation and storage as per the chef's instructions.
- Prepare fresh ingredients, sauces, cheese, and pizza toppings.
- Assist in stretching and shaping pizza dough.
- Maintain consistency in ingredient portions and pizza preparation.
- Assist with operating and maintaining the pizza oven under supervision.
- Ensure proper handling of high-temperature pizza equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the pizza station.
- Follow food safety standards and kitchen SOPs.
- Monitor ingredient stock, freshness, and storage.
- Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely order preparation.
- Assist with kitchen opening, closing, and cleaning duties.

Requirements




- 0–2 years of experience in a professional kitchen or pizza outlet.
- Experience with Neapolitan pizza is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of pizza dough and fermentation is preferred.
- Interest in Italian cuisine and traditional pizza-making techniques.
- Willingness to learn dough handling, stretching, and oven operations.
- Good teamwork, discipline, and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
